Standing Indian NRE - Franklin, NC (Aug 10-11)

We spent the last two days of our trip here at one of our favorite spots. We wade-fished the Nantahala that runs thru the campground and Joan caught a nice rainbow while John lost two. Still, it was nice to be back fishing. We had nice campfires both nights, but rain came and put it out on the last night.

Hungry Mother SP - Marion, Va (Aug 9)

We are spending the night here in s/w Va at a very nice park. The drive across the state was much smoother than the miles of construction across Pa. Our site is again on a creek, but this one has little flow and is too warm for trout. This would be a great lake to kayak if we had brought them. Next time we will have the Envoy with kayaks on top.

Creekside Campground - Edington, Va (Aug 8)

Four states today, Pa, Md, WV, and Va. We return here for the night. We walked into town and had an early dinner. Pizza. It is getting hotter the further south we go.

Saturday, Aug 7 - Today we took a long bike around the lake, took a nap, then a long hike. It was an absolutely georgeous day.

Camp Lee-Mary Jo - Little River, NY - Adarondacks (Aug 5)

We had a great day with friends we met at Ft. Clinch last winter. We explored the Adarondacks Museum and took wine, cheese, and crackers down to a lake nearby their place.

Lake George - Whippoorwill RV Park (Aug 4)

We said goodbye to the kids yesterday PM and headed out in the AM. It had rained heavy in the night, so we had to dump the awning top & sides in a bag. The drive was good down from Stowe until we hit a detour that cost us some time. Neverless, we made it and decided this would work for an overnight. We set up and put all our wet things out on the grass to dry. We had a delicious dinner cooked in the Dutch oven. It consisted of chicken, wild rice, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, dry Lipton Pnion soup mix. Joan mixed it up and John operated the oven.
